Karmyn Tyler
Karmyn Tyler holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Administrative Leadership from Texas A&M University, as well as two Fine Arts degrees in Music and Drama from Texarkana College. She has over 20 years of performing experience and more than 15 years of vocal training including studies at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Karmyn has over 10 years experience as a vocal teacher and 8 years as an acting teacher.
She began her teaching work at First United Methodist Church Music School and was there for 3 years. She continued teaching by opening her own private studio. Many of her students have had successes as top chair in All State Choirs (Regional, Area and State), full music college scholarships, pageant talent winners (local, state, and national titles for Miss and Teen divisions), and local, regional, and national theatrical talent. Miss Tyler is a former Miss Louisiana where she was a talent & swimsuit winner and talent winner at Miss America.
Karmyn has performed in numerous theatrical plays, regional and national commercials as well as film. She is an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. Karmyn is also a full member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing as well as an alumni and lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity-Eta Lambda Chapter. She has recorded several demos utilizing different types of genres including country, classical, pop, and Broadway. She can now add recording artist and song-writing to her resume. She completed her first self-titled jazz album at the end of 2004 and is currently recording her own material. Miss Tyler recently wrote and arranged a sultry jazz tune entitled Forbidden Love that can be heard on her personal website. Miss Tyler now resides in the Los Angeles area.
